Sports

Located as it is in a stanch GAA hurling area, it is unsurprising that the school has a keen interest in hurling and also Gaelic football. The school had a great run of success some years previously winning a number of Cumann na mBunscol competitions.

Cross Country Under 13 Girls runners up 2022

In conjunction with GAA the school had commenced participating in the FAI Primary School’s 5’s competition . In 2014 the school got to the All Ireland final in the Small School’s section which was a tremendous achievement for a school with no strong local links to soccer. We put in a good performance on the day but were beaten by a better team.

In recent years the school has become involved in athletics and participates in organised events. Swimming has been a regular feature of school for the past twenty years and the Aura complex in Trim is where the school attends for swimming lessons. Every two years  the 5th/6th class children take part in cycling as part of SPHE/PE and all enjoy this very much.

On the 15th of November 2022 the children from 4th-6th classes, travelled to Fairyhouse Race Course to take part in Cumann na mBunscol Cross Country racing. We entered three teams, under 11 boys, under 11 girls and under 13 girls. Everyone tried their very best and enjoyed the event. Well done to all the children who took part. Particular congratulations to the under 13 girls, who came 2nd!
